Walking along ridges and reaching mountain tops is one of the most attractive challenges that high mountain offers during the summer months. When snow melts and grassy meadows show their greenness, it’s time to plan the ascent to the highest summits. Those mountain tops have been covered with snow for months and, in some cases, have only been visited by experienced mountaineers and skiers, because of their technical difficulty.

Muntanyes Màgiques is a challenge for those who love trekking and the catalan Pyrenees: 5 stages between Ribes de Freser (Ripollès) and Estana (Cerdanya), 17 summits, 98,47 km. and 15.113 m. of cumulative altitude.

Stage 1: Ribes de Freser – Coma de Vaca Mountain Hut
Distance: 15,87 km.
Cumulative altitude gain: 1.512 m.
Cumulative altitude loss: 455 m.

Stage 2: Coma de Vaca Mountain Hut – Pic de l’Àliga Hostel
Distance: 15,70 km.
Cumulative altitude gain: 1.392 m.
Cumulative altitude loss: 1.275 m.

Stage 3: Pic de l’Àliga Hostel – La Molina UEC Mountain Hut
Distance: 24,66 km.
Cumulative altitude gain: 1.229 m.

Stage 4: La Molina UEC Mountain Hut – Sant Jordi Mountain Hut
Distance: 21,36 km.
Cumulative altitude gain: 1.930 m.

Stage 5: Sant jordi Mountain Hut – Estana
Distance: 20,93 km.
